LifeSci updates gender diversity initiatives

In an epistle to industry on Wednesday, LifeSci Advisors Co-Founder Michael Rice and SV Life Sciences Managing Partner Kate Bingham called on biotech’s leaders to take further steps to increase gender diversity in the life sciences business, and outlined LifeSci's progress in addressing the issue in the year since it came under fire for hiring 70 female models to attend a party during last year's JPMorgan Healthcare Conference (see BioCentury Extra, April 15, 2016).

Bingham and BioCentury Inc. Co-Founder and Chairman Karen Bernstein circulated an open letter in February 2016 expressing outrage about the LifeSci party and another investor conference that was promoted in a video with scantily clad female dancers. More than 350 leaders of the biopharma industry signed the letter (see BioCentury Extra, Feb. 4, 2016)...
