Cancer Moonshot report outlines new programs

The White House released its report of the Cancer Moonshot Task Force on Monday, announcing a slew of public and private partnerships to advance the goals of the Cancer Moonshot Initiative. The report also outlined specific programs for the Cancer Moonshot, including the creation of an NCI Drug Formulary and a Blood Profiling Atlas pilot to accelerate the development of blood-based diagnostics.

According to the report, NCI will partner with 20-30 pharmaceutical companies to create a pre-approved formulary list for clinical trials, which it said will allow researchers easier access to investigational treatments. Also, in the Partnership for Accelerating Cancer Therapies (PACT) program, NIH will collaborate with 12 large biopharmas to fund and conduct pre-competitive cancer research and share the results. ...
