Pazdur to head new FDA cancer center

On Wednesday, FDA announced the creation of an Oncology Center of Excellence (OCE) that will coordinate and streamline clinical reviews of cancer products among the agency's centers for drugs, biologics and medical devices. The agency named Richard Pazdur acting director of OCE. An acting director will be appointed to replace him as director of the Office of Hematology and Oncology Products at the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.
The announcement was timed to coincide with a summit of Vice President Joe Biden's Cancer Moonshot Initiative. Details of the new organization's mission and authorities are not yet final. ...
