London cancer 'hub' launched

The London-based Institute of Cancer Research, Royal Marsden Hospital and the London Borough of Sutton launched The London Cancer Hub on Wednesday. The hub is a planned 265,000-square-meter life science campus that will be located at the Sutton site of the ICR and the Royal Marsden Hospital. Its aim is to integrate research and cancer care to "actively drive interactions between scientists and clinicians."

The partners released a document that said ICR expects to build new drug discovery facilities within one to three years that will include a 20,000-square-meter research space, plus an incubator space for ICR spinouts and biotechs, at a cost of about L65 million ($92.9 million). ...
