Trump calls for Medicare price negotiations

Donald Trump suggested at a campaign event in New Hampshire on Monday that Medicare should be allowed to negotiate drug prices, saying the change could save $300 billion.

Trump said pharmas have blocked attempts to grant Medicare negotiating powers, naming Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) and Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ). Pharma trade groups have opposed granting Medicare such powers. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are among those who favor empowering Medicare to negotiate with drug companies. ...
