PCORI grants $142.5M to PCORnet

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute approved $142.5 million in funding to support a second phase of development for the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network (PCORnet) over three years. PCORnet is a data-driven initiative to improve health research including comparative effectiveness studies using electronic health records and other sources.

PCORI expects to add seven health data networks to the 27 existing networks that are part of the initiative. The new networks will add expertise and information about Alzheimer's disease, autism, heart disease, obesity and Parkinson's disease. ...
