Cyber sleuths say financial hackers target biopharmas

Cybersecurity company FireEye Inc. said Monday in a report that it has discovered and is tracking a criminal organization allegedly targeting email accounts of "individuals who possess non-public information" about mergers, acquisitions and other market-moving announcements in the healthcare industry.
FireEye's report alleges that an organization it calls FIN4 has gained access to email accounts for over 100 publicly listed companies. About two-thirds of the targets are in the healthcare industry; among those, half are in biotech and 10% are in pharma, according to FireEye.
