NIH, NSF launch biomedical research commercialization program

NIH and the National Science Foundation launched the I-Corps at NIH pilot program, which will train up to 24 teams of NIH-funded researchers to evaluate their scientific discoveries for commercial potential. The program comprises nine weeks of courses, which will be taught by instructors with biomedical business experience. NIH will provide researchers in the program with up to $25,000 in supplemental funding to support entrepreneurial training, mentorship and collaboration opportunities.
