EU allocates for IMI 2, other projects

On Tuesday, the European Council approved allocating a portion of the budget from Horizon 2020 for 10 public-private partnerships, including EUR 1.6 billion ($2.2 billion) for the EU's Innovative Medicines Initiative 2. The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) is contributing EUR 1.4 billion ($1.9 billion) to IMI 2 in in-kind contributions, with another EUR 213 million ($295 million) bringing the total budget for the initiative to about EUR 3.3 billion ($4.6 billion).
