Goodman joins wave of FDA departures

FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg announced in an internal memo that Jesse Goodman will depart as the agency's chief scientist to return to academia. Goodman is leaving FDA to become a professor of medicine and infectious diseases and attending physician at Georgetown University and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington, D.C. FDA's Stephen Ostroff will become acting chief scientist. Ostroff is CMO of FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition and senior public health advisor to the agency's Office of Foods and Veterinary Medicine. ...
