CIRM announces $40.6M in grants

The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine awarded $40.6 million in grants under its Early Translations Awards IV program for translational research. The awards aim to help move basic stem cell discoveries into clinical studies. The awards include a $1.3 million grant to computational biology company Numerate Inc. (San Bruno, Calif.), which uses its in silico drug design technology to generate small molecules for pharma and biotech clients, as well as grants to nine academic or not-for-profit institutions (see BioCentury, Aug. 23, 2010). ...
