Korea renames, elevates KFDA

Korea elevated the Korean Food and Drug Administration to a ministerial level and renamed the agency the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). MFDS's headquarters will continue to house policy making and development functions, while the regional offices will be responsible for enforcement, surveillance and monitoring.
