U.K. biomedical fund announces L47M in awards

The U.K.'s three-year, L180 million ($268.8 million) Biomedical Catalyst fund awarded L47.2 million ($70.5 million) across 43 small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and eight universities, with L33.6 million ($50.2 million) supporting early stage life sciences research. Companies receiving funding include infectious disease company Indigix Ltd. (London, U.K.); ophthalmic company ReNeuron Group plc (LSE:RENE); and cancer companies Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals Inc.
