Australia proposes policies to increase jobs

The Australian government proposed several policies to increase jobs in Australia in a plan released earlier this week, including commitments to increase funding for VCs and to improve clinical trials. Under the plan, the government will commit A$350 million (US$361.8 million) to its Innovation Investment Fund, which provides seed and startup capital matched with private sector capital for "knowledge-based and innovation-driven" businesses in Australia. As part of the plan, the government said it will also commit A$9.9 million (US$10.2 million) over five years to reform clinical trials, including standardizing clinical trial costs and developing a national web portal to facilitate clinical trials.
