USPSTF recommends HCV screening

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) released draft guidelines recommending screening for HCV in adults at high risk, including those with any history of IV drug use or blood transfusions prior to 1992. The USPSTF also said clinicians should consider screening for HCV in baby boomers, noting that HCV screening in the generation born during 1945-65 has "at least a small net benefit."
