FDA considers elevating drug shortages team

FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) is considering moving its Drug Shortages Staff to the Office of the Center Director from the Office of New Drugs, according to an internal memo. The memo said the move would give the team "greater visibility and prominence within the center," citing FDA's new authorities to combat shortages as part of the recently enacted FDA Safety and Innovation Act.
