M.D. Anderson launches Moon Shots program for cancer research

M.D. Anderson Cancer Center launched its Moon Shots Program to accelerate the conversion of scientific discoveries into clinical advances for cancer patients. The program will initially target eight cancers: acute myelogenous leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), chronic lymphocytic leukemia, melanoma, lung cancer, prostate cancer, triple-negative breast cancer and ovarian cancer. There are six moon shot teams. Each "moon shot" will receive funding and other resources for projects that may include basic and translational research, biomarker-driven clinical trials, behavioral interventions and public policy initiatives. ...
