Senate cloning vote deferred

Senate Republicans on Monday abandoned an effort to force a vote on anti-cloning legislation after it became clear that they could not muster the 60 votes needed for passage. The Republican leadership attempted to attach an amendment imposing a 6-month moratorium on all human cloning, including therapeutic cloning experiments, to unrelated legislation.
