Bush revisits biowarfare treaty

President Bush on Thursday said the U.S. is pushing for new international controls on biological weapons and that the administration wants to revive international negotiations on methods for verifying compliance with the Biological Weapons Convention. The pharmaceutical and biotech industries have expressed concern that proposed compliance monitoring techniques would render them susceptible to industrial espionage.
