Carrick raises $95M for cancer programs

Newco Carrick Therapeutics Ltd. (Dublin, Ireland) debuted with $95 million in a venture round led by Arch Venture Partners and Woodford Investment Management. Cambridge Enterprise Seed Funds, Cambridge Innovation Capital, Evotec AG (Xetra:EVT), GV and Lightstone Ventures also participated.

Carrick plans to target molecular pathways that drive aggressive and resistant cancer types, and aims to develop therapies tailored to a patient's tumor. The company has three programs, including one based on the work of Steve Jackson, head of Cancer Research UK Laboratories at the Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute.
