KPCB's Perkins passes away

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers co-founder Thomas Perkins passed away Tuesday at age 84, according to his assistant Kathy Daly.

Among the firm's many life sciences investments was Genentech Inc., where Perkins was chairman from 1976-1990. He remained on the board until 1995. Genentech is now a unit of Roche (SIX:ROG; OTCQX:RHHBY). ...
