Weill's $185M gift creates UCSF neuroscience institute

The University of California San Francisco said the Weill Family Foundation and Joan and Sanford Weill donated $185 million to establish the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences. The university said the donation is its largest-ever gift.

UCSF said the institute will aim to develop new therapies for brain and nervous system diseases, including psychiatric disorders. It will encompass the university's neurology, psychiatry, and neurological surgery departments, its Neuroscience Graduate Program and its Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases. ...
