Lux closes $350 venture fund

Lux Capital raised $350 million for Lux Ventures IV, a new venture fund that will invest in early stage, "futuristic science and technology ventures." Lux said the oversubscribed fund, which had an initial target of $245 million, brings the firm's funds under management to $700 million.

Lux co-founder and Managing Partner Peter Hebert said the firm invested about a third of Lux Ventures II and III in life sciences and he sees "no reason to expect that would not continue." Hebert said the firm intends to invest in about 25 companies ranging from "therapeutics to medical robotics to digital health." ...
