Funding roundup: BioMarin, Puma, Intrexon

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (NASDAQ:BMRN), Puma Biotechnology Inc. (NYSE:PBYI) and Intrexon Corp. (NYSE:XON) raised more than $1 billion in follow-on offerings on Thursday.

In the day's largest offering, BioMarin raised $792.6 million through the sale of 8.5 million shares at $93.25. BofA Merrill Lynch; JPMorgan; Morgan Stanley; Barclays; and Deutsche Bank were underwriters. The company proposed the offering after market close on Wednesday when its shares were at $96.14. BioMarin shed $0.29 to $95.85 on Thursday. It plans to use the proceeds to fund its acquisition of Prosensa Holding N.V. (NASDAQ:RNA) (see BioCentury Extra, Nov. 24, 2014). ...
