Merieux closes EUR150M healthcare fund

Merieux Developpement, the private equity arm of Institut Merieux, has launched its second evergreen healthcare fund with EUR150 million ($187.4 million). The fund includes a EUR75 million contribution from Sienna Capital, the alternative investments platform of Groupe Bruxelles Lambert.

Merieux said the fund will provide both venture and growth capital to companies in the healthcare and nutrition sectors. The firm did not say how much it will invest in therapeutics as opposed to areas such as nutraceuticals, patient services, diagnostics and medical devices. ...
