Forbion raises EUR 92M toward FCF III

Forbion Capital Partners has raised the first EUR 92 million ($116.6 million) of a planned EUR 150-EUR 200 million fund, named FCF III. The firm said the final close could be more than 12 months away, but it expects additional interim closings.

Forbion plans to invest FCF III in 12-15 companies developing therapeutics, medical devices and companion diagnostics, with about 70% of the funds targeted for European opportunties. Both new and existing LPs from Europe, Canada and the U.S. participated in the new fund, with disclosed investors including the European Investment Fund through its European Recovery Programme; LfA; and Dutch Venture Initiative, as well as Knight Therapeutics Inc.
