Sanofi points to lower end of 2013 guidance

Sanofi (Euronext:SAN; NYSE:SNY) reported 3Q13 earnings on Wednesday and guided to the lower end of its range for 2013 business EPS. The pharma now expects full-year business EPS to be around 10% lower than 2012 at constant exchange rates. The pharma attributed the revised guidance in part to an "extended vaccines shortage" in the U.S. during 3Q13 resulting from problems at a manufacturing plant that CEO Christopher Viehbacher said had been resolved. In August, Sanofi said it expected 2013 EPS to be about 7-10% lower. Earlier this year, the pharma had said it expected business EPS to be flat to 5% lower than 2012. ...
