Chimerix, Omthera set IPO ranges

Infectious disease company Chimerix Inc. (Durham, N.C.) and hypertriglyceridemia company Omthera Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Bedminster, N.J.) both set proposed ranges for their IPOs on Monday. Chimerix plans to sell 6.1 million shares at $13-$15. A $14 price would raise $85.4 million and value the company at $324.7 million. Morgan Stanley; Cowen; William Blair; and Lazard are underwriters. Chimerix proposed to raise up to $85 million in the offering last month (see BioCentury, March 8).

Omthera plans to sell 5.8 million shares at $12-$14. A $13 price would raise $75.1 million and value the company at $274.6 million. BofA Merrill Lynch; Barclays; Leerink; Stifel; and Piper Jaffray are underwriters. Last month, Omthera filed to raise up to $75 million in the offering (see BioCentury, March 11). ...
