Regeneron gains on Eylea sales, guidance

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:REGN) gained $11.49 to $138.60 on Thursday after reporting the first full quarter of sales for Eylea aflibercept and raising guidance for the ophthalmic drug for the second time this year. Eylea, which was launched last November to treat wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD), recorded $124 million in net product sales for 1Q12. Regeneron now expects $500-$550 million in 2012 sales of the drug, up from a forecast of $250-$300 million announced in February.
