Enterome, Gustave Roussy in cancer microbiome deal

Enterome Bioscience S.A. (Paris, France) said it partnered with cancer center Institut Gustave Roussy (Villejuif, France) to develop immuno-oncology therapies. Enterome CEO Pierre Belichard told BioCentury the partners would seek to develop vaccines and diagnostics derived from bacterial components of the gut microbiome that appear to mimic tumoral antigens.

The partners will explore the gut microbiome as a predictor of efficacy for cancer immunotherapies. Researchers at Gustave Roussy published a paper in Science last week suggesting that the efficacy of CTLA-4 blockade in a mouse cancer model is dependent on the presence of Bacteroides fragilis. ...
