Express Scripts drops pharmacy with Horizon ties

Horizon Pharma plc (NASDAQ:HZNP) fell $4.39 (20%) to $17.99 on Wednesday after Express Scripts Holding Co. (NASDAQ:ESRX) terminated a contract with pharmacy Linden Care LLC (Woodbury, N.Y.). Express Scripts spokesperson Brian Henry told BioCentury the company found that Linden Care "predominately dispensed Horizon prescription drugs."

Henry said the PBM is evaluating "captive pharmacies," which it defines as companies that derive the vast majority of their prescription volume from one manufacturer or product. ...
