GE to acquire three Thermo Fisher businesses

The GE Healthcare unit of General Electric Co. (NYSE:GE) will acquire three businesses from Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE:TMO) for about $1.1 billion. The businesses are Thermo Fisher's HyClone cell culture media and sera products; gene modulation technologies; and the company's Sera-Mag magnetic beads product line. The three businesses had combined 2013 revenues of about $250 million. GE's acquisition is expected to close in the first part of the year. ...
