HHS OIG bans Harkonen from federal programs

HHS's Office of the Inspector General (OIG) banned W. Scott Harkonen, former president and CEO of InterMune Inc. (NASDAQ:ITMN), from participation in federal healthcare programs for the minimum statutory period of five years. OIG said the exclusion is required as a result of Harkonen's 2009 conviction of wire fraud by a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
