Achillion reports SVR4 data for HCV NS3 protease inhibitor

Achillion Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:ACHN) reported data from 36 HCV patients in a Phase IIa trial of once-daily oral sovaprevir (formerly ACH-1625) in combination with standard of care for 12 weeks followed by standard of care alone for an additional 12 weeks. Sustained virologic response (SVR) four weeks after the end of treatment was seen in 90% of patients in the 200 mg sovaprevir arm, 85% of patients in the 400 mg arm and 100% of patients in the 800 mg arm. Achillion previously reported rapid virologic response (RVR), complete early virologic response (cEVR) and end of treatment response data from the trial of the selective inhibitor of HCV NS3 protease.
