Pfizer ASCO abstracts released

Several Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) abstracts were released Thursday ahead of the American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting, including one with additional data from a trial that supported accelerated approval of Xalkori crizotinib. The meeting starts June 1 in Chicago.

In the Phase II PROFILE 1005 trial in anaplastic lymphoma kinase ( ALK)-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), Xalkori led to an objective response rate of 53%, a 12-week disease control rate (DCR) of 85% and a median duration of response of 43 weeks. Median progression-free survival (PFS) was 8.5 months. The data included 255 evaluable patients. Last year, FDA granted accelerated approval to Xalkori based in part on the ORR data. Xalkori is a dual inhibitor of c-Met receptor tyrosine kinase and ALK and their oncogenic variants. ...
