Lyxumia meets GetGoal-M

Zealand Pharma A/S (CSE:ZEAL) said Lyxumia lixisenatide as an add-on to metformin met the primary endpoint of significantly reducing HbA1c from baseline to week 24 vs. placebo plus metformin in the Phase III GetGoal-M trial to treat Type II diabetes (p<0.0001). Data were presented by partner Sanofi (Euronext:SAN; NYSE:SNY) at the World Diabetes Congress in Dubai. The double-blind, international trial enrolled 680 Type II diabetics inadequately controlled with metformin. Lyxumia is a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor ( GLP-1R) agonist.
