Phase IIb SVR data for Pharmasset's PSI-7977

Pharmasset Inc. (NASDAQ:VRUS) said all 40 treatment-naive patients with HCV genotype 2 or 3 infection achieved a sustained virologic response 12 weeks after the end of treatment with PSI-7977 in the Phase IIb ELECTRON trial. The patients were split into four treatment arms: once-daily 400 mg PSI-7977 plus ribavirin alone for 12 weeks or with peginterferon alfa-2a for 4, 8 or 12 weeks. The data are being presented at the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases meeting in San Francisco this week. Pharmasset gained $3.34 to $72.23 on Monday. ...
