ANPI, Cook coated stent data

Angiotech (ANPI; TSE:ANP) and partner Cook (Indianapolis, Ind.) said data from a 192-patient European ELUTES study showed that 37 patients given the highest dose of paclitaxel (2.7 ug/mm) coated on a coronary stent had a 3.1% binary in-stent restenosis rate compared to 20.6% in the control arm, a difference ANPI said was statistically significant. The companies also said the mean diameter stenosis was 33.9% in the control group compared to 14.2% in the highest dose paclitaxel stent group. Furthermore, 89% of patients in the highest dose arm did not have major adverse coronary events (MACE) at 6 months, and no significant difference in MACE-free survival was seen in the highest dose arm and the control arm at 1 month and 6 months. ...
