As BioCentury begins its 20th year of publishing, we reflect on the dramatic changes that have occurred in the biopharmaceutical industry since January 1993. The human genome was sequenced and cloning has become possible, but most important, as the timeline below makes clear, the industry has globalized, and along the way, created a plethora of disease modifying drugs that have changed patients' lives.
