Putting the brain 'back together'

NIH is planning to create a National Neuroscience Research Center that will become a focal point for efforts to integrate a wide range of basic research techniques with clinical research.

Gerald Fischbach, director of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) last week told Congress that the goal of the new center is to "put the brain back together" through close collaboration of researchers working on basic neuroscience and neurobiology with psychiatrists and physicians who are translating their discoveries into therapies.
