While last week's deal between Dyax Corp. and sanofi-aventis Group grabbed attention because of the size of the potential milestones associated with sanofi's exclusive license to DX-2240, it is the conditions attached to the pharma's non-exclusive license to Dyax's phage display technology that has more strategic repercussions for the biotech company.
The acquisition of Cambridge Antibody Technology plc by AstraZeneca plc in 2006, and the newly formed exclusive relationship between MorphoSys AG and Novartis AG make Dyax one of the few independent antibody technology companies left. ...
