Lion fills gap in software pipeline

Bill Gates once quipped that there would be a PC on every desk and in every home running Microsoft software. Likewise, Lion Bioscience AG would like to see its software running on every computer in every life sciences laboratory. To accomplish this, the company plans to provide software solutions that address nearly every stage of drug development from discovery to clinical testing.

Last week, Lion (LEON; NMarkt:LIO, Heidelberg, Germany) filled in a missing piece, entering into a pilot project with e-health play Gesellschaft für Medizinische Datenverarbeitung to develop software modules enabling the use of pharmacogenetics during clinical trials. GMD (Munich, Germany) brings web-based software for management of patient medical data, and LEON will add software that will allow the collection and analysis of genetic data, said company CEO Friedrich von Bohlen...
