Amgen's e-learning experience

Amgen Inc. has paid $10 million for what is essentially a learning experience on the internet, as the company seeks to identify web tactics that will benefit its core businesses. The company last week said it had invested the money in HealthCite Inc. (Chicago, Ill.), a start-up that plans to gather and provide access to health care information via the web.

"The heart of the concept is a health-dedicated search engine, not content development," said Michael Savin, AMGN's senior director of planning and commercial operations.
