Why cancer drug access still in doubt in NHS England

The latest round of cuts from NHS England's Cancer Drugs Fund is leaving some patients without treatment options, and a new system that is expected to be proposed this month is unlikely to improve access to drugs with proven efficacy the fund says it cannot afford.

On Sept. 4, NHS England announced that following a second reprioritization of the Cancer Drugs Fund, coverage for eight cancer therapies was dropped altogether, while a further nine drugs had the number of reimbursed indications reduced. ...
