21st Century Cures: Bipartisan attempt in Congress to boost U.S. competitiveness

While a great deal of political energy in Washington continues to be directed to partisan battles over Obamacare, the House Energy & Commerce Committee has found time to lay the foundations for a bipartisan effort that seeks to make American biomedical innovation more globally competitive.

Last week, Chairman Fred Upton (R-Mich.) and Diana DeGette (D-Colo.) launched the Path to 21st Century Cures initiative and said they are soliciting "ideas on how Congress can help accelerate the discovery, development, and delivery of promising new treatments to patients."...
