Are FDA, the companies
and products it regulates and the patients who rely on them more important than
Washington's fish market? Not to the White House.
As the father of progressive
politics Teddy Roosevelt noted, the presidency is a "bully pulpit."
Among the most important things presidents do is set and announce priorities;
there is not a day when the White House does not try to shape the national
discussion.
