Reimportation, reasonable pricing

The Sept. 11 attacks may have scuttled parallel imports, at least for this year. Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) is rethinking his decision to offer an amendment to the FDA budget bill that would allow U.S. pharmacists and wholesalers to import FDA-approved drugs from Canada.

Dorgan "had planned to offer it, but after September 11 he decided that it is not the time to have contentious arguments on the Senate floor," Dorgan spokesperson Barry Piatt told BioCentury. ...
