OXFORD - Environmental activists destroyed transgenic crop trials in France and Germany, while protesters in the U.K. have threatened to defy a High Court injunction and disrupt British trials.
Greenpeace activists dumped 4,500 kilos of corn modified by Novartis AG to resist the European corn borer at the company's Basle headquarters last week. The activists were protesting the cultivation of genetically modified seeds. About 15,000 hectares of genetically modified corn have been planted in France, Germany and Spain.
