The House disappoints
The House Republican leadership and members of the House Commerce Committee last week botched a chance to demonstrate a clear, positive vision for FDA reform. If, as they've said publicly and privately since Gingrich & Co. took power, they are serious about reform, the time to act has come, and is about to go.
Last week's hearing on "the need for FDA reform," held by Florida Rep. Michael Bilirakis' Commerce subcommittee on health and environment, which has jurisdiction over the agency, originally was billed as "legislative" - one at which legislation would be discussed
