South Carolina moves on waste facility

The South Carolina Assembly voted last week to keep the Barnwell low-level radioactive waste disposal facility open, to begin accepting waste from states other than North Carolina, and to withdraw from the Southeast Low-Level Radioactive Waste Compact.
